Applications
Built for the Collision Bay
Every collision repair creates bare metal. Grinding out a quarter panel, sectioning a rocker, or burning in a weld strips away the factory e-coat — and in a humid shop, unprotected steel starts flash-rusting within hours. Six months later the customer is back, and this time the repair is on you.
ArmorBond RP closes that gap. Your tech degreases the repair, scuffs it, and sprays a seamless polyurea film over the seam sealer, pinch welds and inner panels before reassembly. The film is tack-free in about five minutes, so the vehicle keeps moving through the shop instead of tying up a bay waiting on cure.
Because it goes down through a standard spray gun at shop-air pressures, there is no new equipment to buy and no two-day training class. If your painters can lay down a rocker guard texture, they can lay down ArmorBond RP.
Dealerships and Fleet Garages
For new-car dealers, an anti rust spray package is one of the cleanest back-end products on the menu: real material, real labor, real protection the customer can see on the lift. Dealers in the salt belt routinely package underbody application with interior protection and sell it at delivery. We supply the material at dealer pricing and the application spec — you keep the margin.
Fleet managers face a harsher math. Modern road departments have moved from rock salt to liquid brines — magnesium chloride and calcium chloride — that atomize into a mist, cling to every underbody surface, and reactivate every time humidity rises. A work truck that never sees a wash bay is effectively soaking in electrolyte from November through April.
Why coatings stop rust: corrosion is an electrochemical reaction. It needs an anode, a cathode, and an electrolyte — moisture carrying dissolved salts — bridging them across the steel surface. Take away the electrolyte contact and the circuit is dead. A continuous, pinhole-free polyurea film does exactly that: no moisture path, no ion transfer, no oxidation. Unlike wax and oil films that migrate, dry out, or wash off in a season, a cross-linked polyurea membrane is permanent and mechanically tough enough to shrug off gravel strikes.
Surface prep in five steps:
- Degrease with a wax-and-grease remover — no silicone contamination.
- Knock off loose scale and flaking rust with a wire wheel or 80-grit.
- Abrade sound painted surfaces for mechanical tooth.
- Solvent-wipe and let flash off completely.
- Mask, then spray to 40–60 mils on underbody surfaces, 20–30 mils on panels.
That is the whole process. No primer coat, no induction time, no bake cycle.
